On 21th April 2023, on the occasion of Earth Day at our school, pupils of Year 1 accompanied by teachers of Environmental Education took part in activities in the school garden. They cleaned the plant beds, helped in planting new shrubs and flower beds,collected garbage in the school gardens, school yard and areas around the school.
Inside the school, pupils prepared projects and presentations of interesting natural areas of the region. Pupils also commemorated Earth Day in classroom lessons and prepared bulletin boards for the day. Traditionally, teachers in Biology, Geography, Chemistry and other subjects discuss the need to protect the Earth for the sake of future generations.
The Earth Day activities took place as part of the project Environmental research in the indoor and outdoor educational zone,which is implemented thanks to support from Norway grants and the State Budget of the Slovak Republic under the SK - Climate programme.
